The year was 2009 when I last had a an empty chin. Since then I have let my beard grow and I started to take care of it. In 2014 I started to look for beard caring products. I found some but I was too stingy to buy them.

An old colleague of mine was a beekeeper and when he gave me a piece of beeswax I started to experiment on doing my own beard caring products. The same year I found a recipe online but I wasn't happe with the result. I search for more information in health food stores and online and started to change some ingredients in my recipe. After the twelth recipe I was satisfied.

In August 2014 I posted in a beard forum online to say I was satisfied with my recipe and a lot of people there wanted to know more and if they could buy some. I then posted both the recipe and instructions but they would rather buy the finished product from me. When I said yes to sell some I immediately got 20 orders. 

The twelfth recipe is the base for all of my products and I am really proud to say they are all ecological and caring for both skin and beard. I have afterwards changed my recipe by excluding allergens in my commodities so that more people can use my products.

In the year of 2015 I started my company, it is still my pride and an amazing honour to have customers appreciate my crafts. My company is producing in a small scale and with lots of love.

The name of the company comes from when I posted in the same beard forum online and asked for ideas for what I would name my company. Some ideas was really funny and crazy but then a man wrote that since we call each other "brother" ("broder" in swedish) in the beard world and then add my initials J.O.E to it, therefor the name Broder Joe.
